We set goals for ourselves every day. So why would we not have our children set goals for themselves. Give them the chance to set their own goals with a little guidance from you. If their goals seem a little easy for them to reach then offer some suggestions to make it a bit more challenging. Do not make the goals too difficult to meet as they will lose their motivation when a goal is not reached. The purpose of this is to get them in the habit of setting goals for themselves. This will make organizing and setting goals easier as they get older.
