Use logic. Tweens can begin to mentally work out whether their fears are legitimate. Have your child ask themselves how likely it is that their worst-case scenario will actually happen. Then talk about potential solutions. They may be surprised at how easily they let their fears spin into something bigger than reality. Need to be refreshed on some earlier posts on Butterflies?
