It is good to stay away from the ruts sometimes and look at things in a new refreshed light. Recently, we headed up to Wisconsin for a weekend stay at the Wisconsin Dells complete with lots of exciting things for the kids to do. As we walked around exploring new places, whether it is near or far away, it is a great way to see your family differently. You haven’t lived until you see your kid wipe out while playing and then laugh hysterically when you expect a full on tantrum.

I do not know a lot of things, but this I do know: If it were not for the bonds we formed when traveling away from home, interrupting our overly comfortable lives, I wouldn’t have these amazing kids who still tug at my arm at night, asking for another chapter of Harry Potter. (Yes they still do this.) With that I am off to snuggle and read. I hope you get to do the same. Leave us your comments. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. There are undoubtedly a number of activities that your child is involved in. How in the world do you make time for them to read with everything else occupying their day. I would suggest setting aside a certain time every day for them to read. Right after breakfast is a nice time for them to read. Another good time is in the evening just before bed. The only need to read for 15-20 minutes per day. They do not have to sit down and read 50 pages daily. Your childs reading goal needs to be 2 hours per week to keep their minds sharp.

Keeping teenagers interested in reading can be a daunting task. This becomes especially challenging during the summer months. Who wouldn’t rather go to the beach or hang out with friends instead of read a book. You will need to accomplish 2 main things to keep them motivated. Interesting topics and fresh content. Reading the same old stuff can bore the most avid reader from time to time. If it is not of interest to them, it becomes almost impossible to keep them motivated. Here you will find something to certainly keep them motivates.
